Question:I'm just curious... What's Karen Corr's record when she plays in the
men's tour? Is there any place to see how high she finished in each
men's tournament she joined? Wouldn't that be a good gauge to check
how large the disparity is between the men's game and the women's?
Answer:
Just in case you really think some of the top women can play at the same
level as the top men. Here's my view on the situation, the following men can
give Allison or Karen the <6 BALL> gambling.
Earl
Cory
Jeremy Jones
Mika
Bustamante
Efren
Fong Pang Chao
Alex Pagaluyan
Archer
Now, thats just 9 players off the top of my head that can give the top 2
female players the 6 ball. Believe me, the women wouldn't like the action at
all. Cory aside, there are 3 other players here in Columbus that Allison and
Karen can't beat, nationwide I could probably come up with at least 50 other
names of men they can't beat!
Just educating the masses,
WOW! I'd like to bet on that. I am not a big money gambler, but I would
put some jelly beans on Allison or Karen if they got the 6 from any one of the
guys you listed. Make it happen! How much would it take to get Allison or Karen
in town? Cory Deuel vs Karen Corr, hellava match, esp if Karen gets the 6. Who
would the other RSB'ers bet on if Karen got the 6?
I'd take that action. In fact, I'd take the side of the men if they gave the
8 as well.
I don't think any of the women at this point and time could beat the any of
the top ten men players, playing nine ball even if they got the six ball.
I have seen two cents Ron for a while and I am stealing his line just for
today.
Jeanette can get the 6 and the last four and I'll guarantee she'll hate
every minute of it.
Her husband (George Breedlove) probably needs the seven from any of the 9
players I mentioned and he can give her the 7 and the last three.
She may get the 5 and the last five,
Then why did Jennette Lee Come in in the top 16 in the 1 and only tourney that
she played against the men ????????????? I believe it was in LA.
I wish that Barry would invite the top ladies to Cardiff to kick some of the
men's asses. I would be willing to bet good money that if 4 top women were
invited to the tourney of 128 that 1 of them would make the top 16 or 8 EVERY
year.
It is highly unlikely the women would ever come in the top 16 in a US
Open 9-Ball event. To do so, they'd have to beat at least four
straight champions - on the winner's side. Forget about the loser's
side, where they'd have to win, say, 8 out of 9 matches. IMO, the
only chance the women might have to do really well in a major men's
tournament is in their first few entrances. But after the "circus
side-show" aspect of playing a woman dies down, and the contests are
based purely on skill, their chances of upsets will dramatically
decrease.
About two years ago, when Vivian won the last WPBA tournament held in
NYC, she agreed to play a challenge match against Ginky afterwards.
What I remember most clearly about it is that Vivian made remarkably
few mistakes. She also lost 11-3 or 11-4. This is the major
difference between the genders... when women play nearly perfect
against women, they win by lopsided scores. When men play nearly
perfect against men, they might not win.
Just so you know, women are not allowed to play in the US Open 9-Ball so that
makes it difficult for us to do well!
While spotting Corr and Fisher the 6 might be pushing it a bit, I
think that a woman making the top 16 every year is hoping for too
much.
