Question:Triathlon and TT bikes?
Answer:
It has an aluminium frame & disc brakes, so clearly a different model ...
Proper front suspension, and the rear suspension is built into the seat
stem, a very strange affair.
For some reason I have this visual of you with a camera stuck to the
back of your head, and you hunting for the pliers...
I did consider that, tried a recumbent some five years ago - scared the crap
out of me, and for some reason had a bad back afterwards. Frankly I did not
like the low visibility they have, I know I've nearly wiped one out while I
was driving once.
My bike seems perfectly visible to people who are looking. If they
ain't looking you can be bright red, 16 tons, and making a noise like
a banshee and they still won't notice you, as the fireman said....
The Uni is right near a fire station. Yesterday they were going
crazy[1]. At one point when I was grabbing lunch, I heard and saw a
firetruck overtaking a car on the left, along a narrow street. All of
a sudden, the horn started blazing ontop of the siren, and the truck
stopped suddenly, with both occupants in the front seat holding out
their arms gesturing at the dickhead coming along the narrow street in
the opposite direction. Took em about 15 seconds to convince the
idiot that they weren't going to move backwards out of the way.
[1] I had a nap[2] in a spare room at the office. I heard a whole
bunch of sirens and horns, and decided to wake up and go outside.
Heh. The Queen's batton relay had just gone past. Darn.
[2] Does a 2 hour nap qualify as a nap?
No, true blue hand crankers. Guys you wouldn't want to arm wrestle.
Actually at this particular event, there were apparently an influx of
foreign hand cranked trikes...
