Tri training software?

Question:Can anyone recommend a good triathlon training program fro the PC?

Answer:

TrainRight...I've been using it a couple of years and really like it.

You can certainly start with The Athlete's Diary. Full information is available at our Web site below (or, on request, by e-mail). Fully-functional demo versions of the software (Windows, Mac, and DOS versions) are also available for download at our ftp site; all are very small (<300K) so the download time is minimal. You can also read excerpts from dozens of favorable reviews of The Athlete's Diary which have appeared in the six years it has been on the market, as well as comments from some of our users.

I personally think that the computer stuff for triathlon has little real utility except;

1) it might be helpful as an aide for discipline - but what is wrong with a HRM or sports watch for that. 2) record keeping. i think keeping a log is useful. But you don't need a computer to do that. Faster to write.

(the above sig was just to validate that my anti-technology attitude here is not due to technological iliteracy - henceforth i will again just be "frank")

Gotta get Ultracoach !!

Take a look at their WWW page. They also have a free downloadable trial copy that you can try for 21 days.

PC Coach Training Software has just released the Mike Pigg Triathlon Training Plan. It sets up a training schedule for you based on your level of fitness, number of hours per week you train, your heart rates, and the % you train in each sport.

The plan is based on the heart-rate training philosophy that Mike uses in his training. Mike Pigg and Phil Maffetone provided the workouts and specifications for the plan, and PC Coach turned it into an easy to use software program. The plan tracks how your body is responding to training, and adjusts your schedule every three weeks.
