Question:How can I train for a 1/2 marathon?
Answer:
I would run fewer days per week. That schedule does not give you any
recovery time, other than Sundays. In Galloway's book, he recommends a
schedule that involves running three days during the week, doing your
long run on the weekend. I've had success with that, but everyone
responds to training differently. If you are used to running six days a
week, perhaps you should stick with it.
I am going to run a 1/2 marathon on December 7. That gives me about 6 weeks
to get ready. Currently I am running about 4-5 miles a day. I came up with
this schedule but am by no means an expert. Any suggestions or ideas on a
more effective solution would be greatly appreciated.

My running partner has another schedule that has him running two shorter runs
per day. Is this a better way to train?
You must be running the Florida Citrus Sports 1/2 Marathon and 5K at
Church St. Station in Orlando - my brother is running the same race.
Your schedule doesn't look too bad - I wouldn't do the last 14 miler only
a week before the race though. If you can, move it back to the Tuesday or
Wednesday 10 days before, then taper from there. You might also though
in a track workout in the middle of the week(s).
