Question:I have an oldish but trusty Timex Ironman Indiglo running watch. Recently
the battary was replaced - by a business that specialises in battery
replacement. Since then the beep has gone and the alarm no longer works -
well not the beep bit.
Has anyone a possible solution or has solved similiar problem before?
Answer:
You can go to http://www.timex.com/html/help.html and on-line text chat with
Timex. Maybe they can help you.
There is a tiny spring that contacts the metal cover. If you aren't paying
attention it is easy to lose when the back is opened. There should be a hole
where spring is inserted and will stick up above the electronics.
You may be able to get a replacement but finding which hole the spring goes
into is another story.
I just live with the fact that my watch no longer beeps.
They most likely reversed the case cover top to bottom. The beeper
is built into the back and if you happent to reverse the case cover
when you replace it you diable the beep. I know I've done it once
or twice when replacing batteries. Now I make sure I watch which
way it goes when I place it to the side.
I had also contacted Timex and Samantha gave similar
advice.
I opened the back, fiddled about, located what I thought was the spring
(more of a small flat thing rather than wire-like), anyway bent it so that
it would touch the back cover. And now it works again.
