Question:My girlfriend would like the 100-lap Timex Ironman Triathlon watch,
but Timex only makes a 50-lap version for women (or juniors), which doesn't save times.
She is small, so can't really wear the male version of the watch.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for her, perhaps another brand?
If not, I guess she'll have to stick with the 50-lap version.
Answer:
My wife had the same problem with her watch. So what I did was
cut/punch an addtional hole in the arm band so that it would fit her smaller
wrist. I also ended up cutting off the excess part of the band. A 5 minute"
surgery" on a watch that saved us a huge hassle.
I did the same surgery on my wife's watch and it's worked
fine....there are also the smaller ironman watches albeit you'll
sacrifice the running log feature which is nice.
I just received the new Nike watch...yes it's expensive ($100 for the
42 lap version) but it is contoured to fit a smaller to average wrist.
I have smaller wrists myself and find it easier to wear and more
comfortable. Nike has a shockwave demo at their site...or try
www.rei.com - they have the 42 lap and a 250 lap for only another $20
or so.
