Question:I'm wondering if some of you might like to form a
virtual training team to help with our mutual motivation?
Answer:
The first installment from me. I'm training for the Rotorua Marathon, April
29 in New Zealand. Today I did a 1 hour run, slow and easy after a hard 5
km race last night (18:39 not bad for the first race in ages). I was going
to do a swim today as while but felt tired and skipped it. I also did an
hour and a half of yoga with lots of hamstring stretches. Tomorrow I do
another race 10 km (weeknight races serve as intervals for me) and probably
some swimming and/or more yoga.
Good memories of the Rotorua Running Club. Years ago we hosted them twice
here in San Diego and ran with them as they were visiting San Diego for
about a week before going on to Honolulu to do the marathon there. I
remember their biggest treat was going to ToysRus and getting presies for
their kids and grandkids.
I was alerted to this thread as I don't frequently get this way much
anymore. Hectic schedules and well you know, just not enough hours in the
day....... Anyway,
Yes, I am currently training for a marathon and am interested in the
"virtual group" I have a great support group of running friends however
none of my running buddies are training for a marathon. Most are in
serious training mode for the mini race held here annually in May.. If I
continue to run with some of them JOHNNY, their gonna kill me.!
:)
I have done 1 marathon and it took a huge bite out of me. I have gotten
the "Ok" to do it again.
For todays workout I spent 45 minutes in the pool and then ran for an hour,
my favourite run for the moment through and around the America's Cup bases
and along the waterfront.
