Hal Higdon's training plans

Question: Can anyone offer any experiences with Hal Higdons Marathon training plans> Either the novice or intermediate? I am looking at using one of these for a fall marathon and would like any comments positive or negative concerning his plans and how they worked for you.




Answer:I have used both.... the beginner for my first marathon, and the intermediate plan for my second. shaved 19 min off my PR in the second race..... The beginner plan will get you to the line feeling good, and in one piece.

I assume your talking about the one's on the RW website....



I am following the Higdon's Intermediate plan which is similiar to the MDRA (Minnesota Distance Runners Association) marathon training programs for Grandma's and Twin Cities Marathons. I run with the MDRA marathon program
