Question:I am presently training for the Freescale marathon which takes place on
the 19th. However, I am including cycling as part of my
cross-training. I plan on racing at Pace Bend on the 26th,
one.....maybe.....two of the three Cat. 5 races (25 miles each).
Anyone else planning on racing or coming out for this event? I'd like
to get out there in a couple of weeks (possibly the 11th) to get in a
course training ride, if anyone is interested.
Answer:
Online registration ends the 20th and is limited to 50 riders per cat.
5 race. If you are racing a different category, you will need to
check the field limit on the event flyer (link included). For the most
part the costs are $25 per race.
You can fax the application to them to get a little faster turn around.
That's what I did. I'll try to get my order off for the team kit today.
Good luck on the race, I'm not going to be able to race until later in the
year. Definitely send out a race report to let us know how it went
I'm training to do the Austin Freescale Marathon (walking, not
running), and I could all of the training distances as laps about the
World Showcase.
We also have our "Epcot breakfast" -- croissant sandwiches from Burger
King eaten outside on the hiking bridge over Town Lake in Austin. It's
not exactly the same as ham and swiss croissants from the Boulangerie
at the France pavilion at Epcot, but it does bring back that happy
vacation feeling.
