Question:
1.Hi. I'm looking for any 1/2 marathons in the mid-atlantic or
upper south states. I go to the University of Virginia and am
looking to run in my first 1/2 marathon. I'm willing to
travel. Any information about where they would be or whatever
is greatly appreciated. Also, I'm interested in any races
that come close to this distance. Any time between now and May
is great

You might try the half marathon in Chambersburg, PA on March 25th.
I'm not sure what the initial request asked, but if you're anywhere in the
area, there is a half marathon as well as a 5-mile race in Moab, Utah on March 18 also. Great climate,
great scenery. If interested, I will have the information in a couple of days.
I read someone was looking for 1/2 marathons to run. If you don't mind the
distance you may have to travel, then I have a nice suggestion for you.
The most prestigious 1/2 marathon in The Netherlands will be run March 26th
in The Hague. It's called the City-Pier-City run, because start and
finish are in the city center and the turning point is close to the Pier in
Scheveningen (if your not dutch: don't try to pronounce this name).
There are money bonusses for breaking the trackrecords, but that won't be easy,
because the men's record is at 1.00.24 by Benson Masya (Kenya) in 1993 and the
women's record is at 1.09.05 by Ingrid Kristiansen (Norway) in 1991.
As you can see this is an international race at high level, nevertheless a
large crowd of 6000-7000 runners is participating
