Question:
1.Has anyone run this marathon and what did you think of it? I run in the
pacific northwest and have run the Victoria, Vancouver and Seattle
Marathons and would like to add another in this region. Anybody knows
of more April or May marathons in B.C. or Washington State?
2.A friend who is having trouble posting would like me
to ask if anyone out there in *Netland* has done or
knows about the Capitol City Marathon in Olympia, Wash.
It is scheduled for May 22nd this year and he would like
to know about the organization and what type of course
it is, flat, hilly, rolling?
John is shooting for a sub 3 hour and wants to choose the
right course.
You can either post your responses which he will be able
3.I'm planning on doing one of the two spring marathons in Ontario this
May. But I really don't know which one? The Forest City in London, or
the National Capital in Ottawa. Can anyone give me info on either or
both? It's coming up quickly and I'd like to make an informed choice.
Answer:1.Don't forget the Royal Victorian Marathon in Victoria, BC. It's usually
held in October, I believe. Excellent! It's one you want to be sure and
do.
Consider the Coeur d'Alene marathon, half-marathon, 10K in April.
Nice course, good experience, an' great shirt.
3.Depends what you like: I live in London, and the Forest City Marathon is
a small, friendly marathon, much of which (about 50% ?) is run in the park
system there along the Thames river -- very scenic, green etc.
Ottawa is larger, more urban.
Like I say, depends what you like.....
3.I'm afraid I can't tell you about Ottawa, but I ran Forest City last
year. It's a fairly flat course, through some residential and quite a
bit of park. Well organized and friendly volunteers. Friendly
fellow-racers as well. Accommodations in London are very good and quite
reasonable. I'd recommend both the city and the race.
