Question:
someone is calling the Brooks Beast as the best shoe? is that true?
Answer:Can we be honest?....they're basically concrete blocks with
laces....anchors with soles....the shoe has as much flexibility as a brick for
crissakes. They're made for "hoofers" in fact....those that "lunker" along.
In fact the whole objective of the Beast is to "graduate" out of 'em once you
become a better runner. Seriously....a Beast runner that 1)improves their
striking technique and 2) slims down and becomes more fleet-a-foot.....should
then at that point try a pair of Trance(s). They'll think they've died and
gone to heaven.....they'll feel emancipated. OK OK...I'm ripping the Beast
shoes....but seriously I can't imagine any Beast wearer who then wears a pair
of Trances not prefering the Trance hands down. The Trance model is the next
natural progression of the Beast wearer. Again, the beast is a "highly
corrective shoe"...heavy duty sturdy feet braces for the runner. Impove your
technique, slim down, and you won't need all that crap in that shoe it's
designed to address.
