Question:
I'm a big track/interval nut and I'm looking for a new watch. In college I
used to use a Casio that was awesome. I could take times, save them, recall
them - I know this is all basic stuff, but what was very cool was being able
to setup split times that would casue the watch to beep at certain
intervals.
Example: If I was going to run a 1000 meters in 2:30 I might have the watch
beep at 1:00 (first lap), 2:00 (second lap) and 2:30 (finish time). The last
ten seconds of the interval the watch would start to count down. It was
great stuff.
Anyone know of something similar that doesn't weigh a ton or look huge? :-)
Answer:try the timex ironman triathlon.
i've had it for a couple of years now and it's pretty good.
does come with some kind of a timer mode for intervals.
though, i've never used that feature before.
the one i have can store 100 laps, has 5 alarms, and cost me about $45.
it's quite light and gives out light if you press a button (indiglo).
the indiglo thing also works if you flick your wrist.
doesn't look too huge either.
timex also makes a GPS based running watch.
don't know anything about that one.
